Every summer the Movement gathers at Murad Hassil, the Universel by the dunes of Katwijk. You are welcome for the whole week or for single days.
Our retreat programmes are diverse: they may include teachings, breathing practices, prayers with movements, sacred readings, stories, periods of silence, group work and personal work, music, nature meditations and the Universal Worship. There is also time for friendship and sharing.
We strongly recommend attending at least two days. Be sure to book your accommodation well in advance — Katwijk aan Zee is very busy in the summer months.

The Universel stands in the dunes just south of Katwijk, a few minutes' walk from the sea. It was built as a Sufi temple and opened in 1970, on the spot where Hazrat Inayat Khan sat in the dunes in 1922.
The building is cared for by the Stichting Universel Murad Hassil. Their site has the history and what else happens there: universel.nl.

By public transport: train to Leiden Centraal, then bus to Katwijk. By car: parking in Katwijk is paid, but free at the football ground on the Laan van Nieuw Zuid, about ten minutes' walk from the temple. The last stretch is on foot, over a boardwalk and a flight of steps.
Practical
The contribution is €375 for the whole week, or €85 for a single day. Choosing all five days gives you the week rate automatically.
You can pay by iDEAL or by card; payment is handled by Stripe, so we never see your bank or card details. As soon as your payment is received you will get a confirmation message, and further details about the programme will follow. If the contribution is an obstacle, write to us before you register — nobody is kept away by money.
